Vajrateja’s Rice Tips

Bring Out The Taste Of Your Rice

Always rinse your rice before cooking it — this will make it less sticky and prevent it from clumping together.

It might be tempting to stir the rice while it’s cooking. It’s better to resist since stirring it might make it starchy!

Add a splash of oil to your rice to prevent the individual grains from sticking together while you’re cooking. This will also make fluffing easy.

If you want to have a toasty or nutty flavour - you can get this by adding the cooked rice in a pot & toasting it with a dash of oil.

Season your rice with salt for the flavour to stick to the dish better.

Let your rice rest for about 15 minutes before serving.

Whether you’re using a pot or a cooker, the ratio for water & rice is the same! 2 parts of water to 1 part of rice.

You can soak the rice to make it moisture-rich before rinsing for about 10-15 minutes.

While cooking let the simmer be there for 12 minutes & leave the lid on till it fully cooks.

Add ghee instead of oil (if you want an enhanced flavour), while adding water & salt to the rice.
